(About The Images)
1929-D PCGS MS-65. 1929-D PCGS MS-65.
Lot Title: 1929-D PCGS MS-65.
Description: Well struck half-dollars seldom emerged from the branch mints before the late 1930s, but this 1929-D displays pleasing sharpness that includes much detail for Liberty's hand, and fine delineation of her head and sandal details. The forefinger is not fully present, and the eagle's lower breast feathers are correspondingly a trifle soft, but normal viewing distance suggests a pleasing coin with regard to strike. Steam-grey patina delicately layers each side, intensifying a bit in the right obverse field, and indicates excellent original quality. Despite the patina, compelling mint luster emanates gracefully from the surfaces and only aids the eye appeal. Distractions are quite limited, and includes twin tiny contact marks at her chin and above her shoulder, as well as trivial abrasions on the eagle's motif.

735The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$4,800.00
1929-D PCGS MS-66 CAC.
59 graded MS-66, 1 higher at PCGS. Denver minted a million half-dollars in 1929 yet very-gem examples exist only in small numbers, with CAC declaring this as one of the best. It would be tough to...
600The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$900.00
1929-D PCGS MS-64.
Bud's Walker Duplicates. Energized, blazing white luster has not diminished in the slightest since the day this half was struck, and vibrancy suggests that the coin has somehow avoided being dipped. ...
539The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$475.00
1929-D ANACS MS-63.
The obverse luster is a trifle dull, possibly from an old and unimportant cleaning, while the reverse displays lucid, gleaming luster, and both sides bear a benign layer of delicate golden-rose tone. ...
500The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$600.00
1929-D MS-63.
From an issue known to be represented by coins with average to below average strike quality comes this better 1929-S graded MS-63. Details are decently represented, including Liberty's hand, which...
1145The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$240.00
1929-D NGC AU-55.
Only a small bit of wear is holding this Walker back from a loftier grade. The coin is fully lustrous and well struck.
1485The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$177.00
1929-D AU-50.
Soft russet toning blends with the lovely, original silver surfaces on the right half of the obverse, and even lighter on much of the reverse. A nice AU example.
