(About The Images)
1928-S PCGS MS-64. 1928-S PCGS MS-64.
Lot Title: 1928-S PCGS MS-64.
Description: Strike is unexpectedly sharp for a San Francisco issue, with the bison's horn, hide and tail exceptionally bold. Surfaces gleam with nickel-steel luster and display no carbon spots or discoloration. Limited contact marks account for the grade, with a scrape on the Indian's chin undoubtedly the single most obvious blemish.

388The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$700.00
1928-S NGC MS-64.
Crimson-gold toning washes over both sides in consistent manner, but fails to suppresses gleaming silvery presence beneath. 1928-S sometimes shows weak strikes, but this example shows reasonably fine...
581The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$380.00
1928-S NGC MS-63.
Mike Wrinkle Collection. Overall bold definition defies the notion that all S-mint nickels of the 1920s saw poor strikes, as this example displays refined details at the bison's head, as well as a...
374The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$425.00
1928-S NGC MS-63.
NGC no-line holder. Next in today's parade of collector-caliber buffalo nickels is this 1928-S graded MS-63 long ago by NGC. The grade seems accurate even today, though this San Francisco coin...
935The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$2,300.00
1928-S NGC MS-65.
Dispensing with statistics, one notes that NGC has graded 44 examples as MS-65, and merely 8 higher. Sharpness is a critical factor in evaluating potential purchase of a 1928-S since many examples...
541The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$2,900.00
1928-S NGC MS-65.
Dusky chartreuse-bronze toning emphasizes the original character of the surfaces, and definitely helps to modulate a few trivial carbon flecks on the reverse. Plenty of luster easily shines through...
370The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$525.00
1928-S PCGS MS-63.
Impressively lustrous surfaces enhance this beautiful issue giving it a visual splendidness. One toning spec on the plane in front of the bison's hoof is barely discernible without close scrutiny,...
371The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$1,350.00
1928-S NGC MS-64.
Encapsulated in a older style holder, this decently struck San Francisco issue glistens from its satinlike surfaces. Its eye appeal is enhanced by rich golden nuances. Some russet speckling appears...
983The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$700.00
1928-S MS-63+++.
This mattelike example is imbued with an opulent array of russet-gold. Toning blemishes are absent, and only a meager number of contact ticks are observable with a powerful glass. Characteristically...
