(About The Images)
1921 PCGS VF-20. 1921 PCGS VF-20.
Lot Title: 1921 PCGS VF-20.
Description: The date is at least 90% complete, suffering just a hint of weakness at the tops of 921, and because it is easily readable even from arm's length, no net grading is necessary for this supremely crusty and fully original semi-key quarter. Shades of pewter-grey sweep across the right obverse field, competing with the predominantly silvery-grey patina. Most of the shield detail remains visible, with the inner and outer shield lines present, but faded slightly into a few of the rivets.
Low Estimate: $575.00
High Estimate: $650.00

473The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$425.00
1921 NGC VF details/improperly cleaned.
Just trivially wiped from left to right, the surface retains more than enough vintage essence to make this an ideal album coin. Probably VF-30 sharpness overall, with a strong, fully placed date.
670The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$3,000.00
1921 NGC MS-65.
Wine And Dine Collection. The sharpness seems to fall awfully close to the full-head level, the shield additionally detailed with a pleasing complement of stripes and rivets. However, the three...
779The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$1,300.00
1921 AU.
At first glance, the toning and compelling luster suggest a "toned unc" appearance, as the coin retains considerable swooping lines of cartwheel luster throughout the fields on both sides. Closer...
552The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$425.00
1921 PCGS F-15.
Iron-grey overall, tinges of deeper graphite toning embedded in the recesses tend to enhance sharpness just a bit, perhaps enough to advance the grade to the "choice" level. The date is stronger than...
553The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$475.00
1921 NGC VF-30.
Battleship-grey patina predominates overall with charcoal toning in the recesses that helps elevate visual sharpness. Moderate wear has flattened the finest details as expected of VF-30, and "192" in...
864The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$850.00
1921 PCGS XF-45.
Always one of the tough dates, 1921 figures to be one of the top three or four keys to the Standing Liberty quarter set in better circulated grades. At XF, the date had better be strong, and so it is...
423The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$725.00
1921 PCGS XF-45.
Luster is somewhat muted by a thick, rich layer of rust-grey patina that precipitates strongly toward the borders of each side. Thus, consideration for AU is out of the question. However, collectors...
424The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$3,900.00
1921 PCGS MS-65FH.
Since 1921 is most frequently known by circulated examples, and those tended to lose their dates quickly, there is an erroneous school of thought that the issue was poorly produced, even though that...
344The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$475.00
1921 PCGS VF-30.
Strictly original and affected only by honest wear, the dove-grey surfaces are free of excessive abrasions from circulation. 1921 is notorious for poor details at the date, even on higher graded...
654The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$475.00
1921 PCGS VF-30.
Excellence rarely gets any finer than this in a moderately circulated Standing Liberty quarter. The most pleasing ivory-grey patina imaginable evenly blankets each side, darkening tastefully at the...
655The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$625.00
1921 AU/cleaned.
Though it appears at first glance to be a low end BU coin, this 1921 quarter has been cleaned and has PVC residue or damage still remaining. Overly bright, yet still retains a load of luster.
461The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$425.00
1921 VF.
Although details are just on par with a VF-20 coin, inspection with a loupe reveals hairlines and other signs of cleaning. The tops of the digits in the date are perceptibly weaker than the date as a...
462The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$500.00
1921 VF.
The difficulty in collecting Standing Liberty quarters in better circulated grades lies in the fact that many early issues had dates that wore down quickly, and 1921 is one particular date that...
490The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$1,500.00
1921 ANACS MS-63.
Perennially elusive in all grade levels, this virtually Full Head specimen displays strong definition on the rivets of Liberty's shield as well as distinct date definition. Only a few ticks are...
491The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$1,950.00
1921 NGC MS-63.
This boldly struck issue has roughly 90% of the detailing present on Liberty's head, plus her shield is exemplary with all rivets quite prominent. As almost always seen for this specific year,...
506The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$1,725.00
1921 NGC MS-64.
This exquisite specimen represents the scarcest Philadelphia issue amid Variety 2 dates. A dazzling example that manifests a vibrant satinlike luster. Some insignificant ticks, and a light...
507The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$2,600.00
1921 PCGS MS-64 FH.
This coin, which is housed in an older green label holder, is begging for resubmission. The surfaces are much to nice for a MS-64FH. The strike is full including the normally weak date. Is looks to...
1075The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$1,150.00
1921 PCGS AU-58.
An exquisitely lustrous example of this series’ second most elusive Philadelphia issue. It is enhanced with a golden blush, and only the barest trace of wear is detected on Liberty’s head, breast,...
1076The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$1,050.00
1921 MS-60+ FH.
This wonderful coin is blazing white and has a super strong date. You just don’t see these this well struck, so take a look and get ready to bid.
1302The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$725.00
1921 AU-50.
One of the most popular dates in this immensely favored series. This exquisitely visual specimen exhibits intense hues of magenta with complementary deep crimson and blue peripheral toning. Only a...
1303The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,550.00
1921 MS-60.
Definitely uncirculated, and it shows hardly a flaw. The luster is flowing and bright, but it would have to be brighter to be considered a higher MS grade. 1921 Standing Liberty Quarters are...
551The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$210.00
1921 VG-10.
A major rarity within this series. In fact, it is the fourth rarest date behind the 1916, 1918/7-S, and the 1923-S. Exquisite pewter toning blends evenly over its appealing silver aspect. Some...
552The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$425.00
1921 ANACS XF-40.
1921 Standing Liberty Quarters do not normally come with a full strong date. This coin is the exception. Struck with Full Head detail, this coin is very atypical for the issue. The surfaces are a...
553The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$625.00
1921 AU-50.
One of the most craved for dates of this extremely popular series. Untoned, and possibly cleaned, this specimen has no adverse blemishes; however, some hairlines in the fields and one toning speck...
