Lot Title:
1870 PCGS PF-63.
Description:
Laden mostly with earth tones, a splash of citrus-gold color illuminates the space behind Liberty's portrait, offering a dead-on impression of a beaming sun rising up from behind her, and shining across a deep blue ocean. The reverse displays olive-gold and amber hues, gradually developing into deep cobalt color along the right side. While neither side suffers undue hairlines, a number of short, sharp surface disturbances can be seen in the right obverse field.
