Lot Title:
Complete set of Barber half-dollars in a National Coin album.
Description:
Grade is not the only factor that figures into the appeal of a given coin collection. Even though virtually every Barber half-dollar in this set averages only a "good" grade, every single coin is an undamaged, unmolested and original coin. Obviously, the consignor went to astute lengths to match up the coins, and even the album -- a Wayte Raymond "National Coin Album" -- is suggestive of quality, this being the caviar of coin albums. So consistent is the quality that grades need not be specified, other than to say that the early five early keys are high-end AG-3 representatives, and the late keys are somewhat nicer. Wonderful set!
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
