Lot Title:
Complete set of Barber half-dollars in a Dansco 7150 album.
Description:
Very few of these Barber half-dollars display problems, with glaring exceptions being 1892, 1893, 1894, 1895-S, 1901 and 1906-O. Replace these as soon as possible. As usual, later dated coins tend to have partial LIBERTY visible, while earlier ones are better worn, though surprising few overall lack full rims. The best are listed as follows: 1892-O (G-6 with full rims), 1892-S (AG-3), 1893-S (G-5 with full rims), 1897-O (VG-8/reverse spot), 1913 (G-5 with full rims), 1914 (VG-8/lightly cleaned), and 1915 (G-6 with full rims). A little tender loving care (not to mention a few upgrades) would turn this into a fantastic collection, since most of the tougher coins are nicely represented.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
