(About The Images)
1898 MS-63. 1898 MS-63.
Lot Title: 1898 MS-63.
Description: The NCI grade of MS-64/64 is actually spot-on accurate for a technical grade, but will seem conservative by today's standards that allow for moderate handling at the MS-64 level. This coin is very modestly abraded, with perhaps a few wispy slide marks on the cheek and a couple of dings clustered at Liberty's ear. Luster and overall eye appeal are superb, and the certificate is included.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1898 NGC PF-66 Star Ultra Cameo.
Mintage: 67. Extremity of the contrast on the reverse almost defies belief -- really that is true of either side, since under most viewing conditions, the design elements are separated from the...

1898 NGC MS-62.
Although there is no denying the myriad tiny abrasions in the fields that specify the MS-62 grade, there is also no doubt that the eye-appeal exceeds the technical assessment, since there is a hint of...

1898 Coronet eagle, PCGS MS-63
Luster flows freely from this choice gold coin. There is a prominent carbon spot adhering to the top of the eagle's left (observed) wing.

This piece glistens with a yellow-gold hue augmented by a whiff of orange iridescence. Some light hairlines and contact ticks, with one meandering reverse scratch between the Eagle's beak and the...
