Lot Title:
1909 NGC PF-64.
Description:
Close examination suggests modest contrast between the fields and devices, especially on the obverse, but this proof dime is so brilliant that the cameo effect is hardly noticeable. While very few hairlines are even hinted at, the primary grade determinant appears to be very limited spottiness of the fields, perhaps where trivial corrosive effects have occurred.

Pewter-grey obverse patina mates with a beige-tan reverse to produce a dime with dual personality traits. The lower left quadrant of the obverse is also splashed with darker ebony accents, and there... |
