Description:

Ascribed as being "Sea Salvaged" on its ANACS label, this Small Date, Large Letters variety was struck between the months of August and October of 1842, and the total mintage was14,896. A significantly scarce date that displays minuscule contact ticks on both sides, but these don't detract from the strong eye appeal of this specimen. Orange-gold hues enhance the sharply delineated details.
