Lot Title:
1904 NGC PF-62.
Description:
This visually arresting proof Barber quarter very nearly achieves a stunning appearance, composed of substantial cameo contrast (not so designated) and a generous supply of extremely vivid peripheral tone. An arm's length "gem", closer examination reveals slide marks on Liberty's portrait, and some gentle wispy hairlines in the obverse fields. The reverse seems to grade fully PF-65, however, and most collectors would be delighted to augment their collection with a coin of this level of eye appeal.

Lying under original mint bloom are highly lustrous fields and super sharp devices. This higher grade Barber Quarter might benefit from a short bath in some Jewel Luster. |
