Lot Title:
1876/6876 (BG-935) half-dollar. PCGS MS-63.
Description:
Although the dies for BG-935 were sculpted with very fine details, the artists perhaps lacked the skill to render a more realistic portrait, and the Indian has conspicuously swollen facial features. He is then surrounded by thirteen flowers that were undoubtedly intended to represent stars. Amusing aesthetics aside, this coin provides a faithful rendition of the artist's concept, with fresh semi-prooflike fields and sharp threadlike details.
