Lot Title:

Complete Set (1908 - 1929) of Indian quarter-eagles in Capital Plastics Holder.
|
Description:
|
This Capital Plastics holder contains a complete set of gold quarter-eagles dated 1908 - 1929 and including the rare 1911-D. With the exception of the key 1911-D, all of the coins grade in the AU range or better, with the caveat being that some problems are noted here and there. The 1911-D has strong VF details and a reasonably visible mintmark, but the entire coin has been burnished, probably to attenuate the effect of circulation marks. The 1927 is the other coin with obvious problems, in this case a harsh cleaning. Fifteen coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
