(About The Images)
1917-S Reverse. PCGS MS-62. 1917-S Reverse. PCGS MS-62.
Lot Title: 1917-S Reverse. PCGS MS-62.
Description: The 1917-S is commonly found with poor strike details for both mintmarked versions, so the improvement over average offered by the present coin is worthy of appreciation. The cartwheel effect is a little subdued, as is usually found for this issue, and planchet abrasions near the central areas were not effectively effaced by the strike. Lightly patinated with vanilla-beige tone.
Low Estimate: $350.00
High Estimate: $450.00

1917-S Reverse. PCGS MS-63 (green label).
In lower grades, the "obverse mintmark" versions commands about ten times the value of this, the "reverse mintmark" 1917-S, but at the MS-63 level, valuation between the two sub-varieties closes...
526The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$1,250.00
1917-S Reverse. PCGS MS-63.
The "obverse S" variety gets all the glory, but the 1917-S with mintmark on the reverse is no slouch in better uncirculated grades. Comfortable, silvery satin luster dominates this choice example,...
616The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$425.00
1917-S Reverse. MS-62+.
Mottled indigo toning adorns both the obverse and reverse of this well-struck and problem-free half dollar. Smoldering from beneath the toning are highly reflective fields.
