Lot Title:
1920-S NGC MS-64.
Description:
1920-S becomes an expensive semi-key date in grades above MS-64, making that grade level an attractive alternative for the collector whose funds are not unlimited. Delicate silver-pearl patina predominates across this coin, yielding to a slightly mottled streaky effect in the right obverse field, and the strike is better than average for an early branch mint issue. No major blemishes are obvious, though a series of abbreviated scrapes obscures part of Liberty's hand and offers the primary grade determinant. This coin offers fine luster that is commensurate with the grade.

Very decent luster defies the disadvantage of having been struck at a branch mint in the early 1920s, though the level of detail is as expected from a coin of that era with mild wear. Liberty's hand... |

1920-S PCGS MS-63.
Pronounced mulberry-grey patina enriches both sides, but probably subdues the luster to an extent. Strike quality is decent for a branch mint coin of the 1920s, and most abrasions are predictably... |

This specimen displays a good deal of luster within the shielded portions of its design elements. Exquisite peripheral crimson and blue toning frames its central satiny surface quality. Lightly... |
