Lot Title: 1863 two-cent pattern, J-312. PCGS MS-65 BN.
Description: Both surfaces are about 85% brown, with mint red that cedes gently to sienna-brown. The obverse is like that adopted in 1864 for regular production of the new denomination, except for the wording of the motto. CENTS follows a different curve on the reverse from that actually used in production.
