While it is true that the reverse of this 1825 large-cent is corroded per the NCS disclaimer, one cannot say that the obverse is free of environmental effects. Despite broadly defined underlying bronze mint luster, the fact is that this coin unfortunately suffers from excessive exposure to the elements, and the color is somewhat inconsistent. A lack of obverse die cracks confirmed by the very sharp strike confirm that this is an early die state, and fortunately, that means the detail is razor sharp. On an additional positive note, rim dings and other blemishes are absent. EAC 25
