Lot Title:
1918/7-S Standing Liberty quarter, F-12
Description:
Although slightly dulled from a mild, old cleaning, the battleship grey color is highly acceptable and looks virtually original. Your cataloger believes this coin would be acceptable to a legitimate grading service from that standpoint. For the assigned grade, the date is strong and the overdate feature obvious. Only a single distraction merits specific mention, and that is a short old scratch in the right obverse field. Additionally, there are a couple of trivial rim nicks noted on the obverse, but otherwise, this coin offers highly acceptable eye appeal for a mid-grade example. It is just about the ideal album coin for a collector.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
