Lot Title:

Eleven Morgan dollars in various holders
|
Description:
|
An eclectic group of Morgan dollars, for which your cataloger has provided an alternative grade opinion where appropriate [in brackets]. These are cataloged as follows: 1878-CC (PCC MS-63 ), 1882-CC GSA (MS-63), 1882-S (NTC MS-66 ), 1883-O (NGC MS-66 ), 1886-S (INS MS-65 PL ), 1888-O (NTC MS-65 ), 1892-S (NGC AU-50 ), 1898-O (NTC MS-66, PL reverse ), 1903-O (NGC MS-63), 1904-O (NTC MS-66 ), and 1921 "so-called Zerbe reverse" (SEGS MS-61). The 1882-S in the NGC holder really does look MS-66 until some hairlines are discovered beneath Liberty's chin. Liberty's cheek on the 1888-O has been carefully and deceptively smoothed. Eleven coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
