(About The Images)
1882 $20.00. Danville, IL Charter# 5812 Date Back. XF. 1882 $20.00. Danville, IL Charter# 5812 Date Back. XF.
Lot Title: 1882 $20.00. Danville, IL Charter# 5812 Date Back. XF.
Description: The Danville National Bank, Danville, Illinois. Original, crisp, and fresh-smelling paper with a design that is nicely centered. The signatures are fantastic. This bank is the most rare out of the four Danville banks, and just nine large are reported with only one of those being of the $20 denomination. The $20 example reported only grades VG, so it is fairly safe to say that the example now offered is of significantly higher quality. It shows superb color, but does show a single pinhole under Lyons' signature.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
