Lot Title:
1854 w/ Arrows Breen 3069.
Description:
This coin comes with an insert from a NNC MS-65 holder which is an overstatement of the quality level on this pretty half dime. The surfaces are bright and reflective with a crescent of tone from 12:00 to 2:00 on the obverse. It is questionable weather PCGS or NGC would grade this coin. The Breen aspect is all about the date location and size. It appears a dime size punch may have been used for the date numerals as they appear too large for the space they are filling. The date makes contact with the base of the rock. Variety collecting is a growing trend, and specialty coins like this are getting harder to find.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
