Lot Title:
1831 AU-58 BN.
Description:
Only a dash of grayish color on Liberty’s cheek implies the briefest time spent in circulation as the reverse appears to be essentially uncirculated. A couple of insignificant darker areas are scattered around the reverse, but this coin has excellent eye appeal. Incredibly free of any post-mint marks or abrasions, and choice in ever respect. EAC 50.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Pleasing olive-brown color is accented with steel-blue iridescence close to the devices. Scarcely worn, except for a shade of friction on Liberty's cheek and on the curls in front of her hair. |

The 1831 is an N-10 variety listed as an R-3 that appears to be a solid XF without any problems. The 1831 is an underrated date, and fewer are seen than most of the other dates in this time frame. ... |
