Lot Title:
1963-A $1.00 Solid Eight's. GemCU.
Description:
Fr-1901H. The serial number is all eights, and there are eight of them. It reads: H 88888888 A. The condition appears perfect. Now, some facts about the number 8. It's the atomic number of Oxygen, considered by the Chinese culture as a lucky number, represents the center fielder in baseball, is the number of legs on a spider, and is the black colored ball on a billiards table. There are 88 keys on a standard piano, eight vegetables in V8 juice, and, of course, "eight maids a-milking" is given on the eighth day of Christmas in the famous "Twelve Days of Christmas" carol. Even someone not familiar with the hobby would be impressed at seeing this unusual note.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
