Lot Title:

High Grade Washington Quarter Set, 1932 thru 1967.
|
Description:
|
A set of regular issue Washington quarters complete from 1932 through 1967. This set is remarkable on two accounts as the coins themselves are admirable, and the set is housed in a vintage, pre-1965 “Lee Charles Company” album. We can state the approximate date of manufacture with confidence because the last page has been preprinted to accommodate representatives for 1965-D, 1966-D, and 1967-D. For these slots, the consignor has substituted a nice example of the SMS quarter for that date. The coins themselves are wonderful, and some are actually astounding in quality. Ever single coin, without exception, is a lustrous, high-end piece, including the 1932-D, 1932-S, 1936-D, 1937-S, and 1940-D. Only a very few are toned as this album is constructed of a hard plastic designed to prevent toning. Because of the high value and subjectivity involved in grading so many high-grade coins, personal inspection of this set is mandatory as no returns of any kind can be accepted.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
