Lot Title:
1860, 1886, and 1908-S AU.
Description:
All three Indian head cents in this lots are better dates at the grade of AU or so. The 1860 is a copper-tinted “pointed bust” coin that grades AU-55 with perfectly original surfaces. It is a really nice example of this desirable variety. The 1886 also grades AU-55, and has a fascinating crescent of original mint-red color on the left rim of each side. It is a Type 1 variety, with a feather pointing between "ER." Finally, a 1908-S has AU-58 details, but has been once dipped, though the color is recovering nicely and will eventually look completely natural.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
