Lot Title:
Four Quarters.
Description:
This lot is inaugurated by a 1910-D Barber quarter with lustrous AU details, but an old cleaning that has recovered somewhat with pastel-salmon toning. An overly bright 1913-D quarter follows with AU-55 details, but symptoms of having been dipped just a little too often. This coin will recover, given the proper environment. The pick of the lot is a 1916-D Barber quarter that grades MS-62. It is a pretty coin, with pleasing Kraft toning on both side, and a very choice reverse. An AU-55 1917 Type 1 quarter rounds out the quartet. It has the usual exemplary strike, and is almost certainly a Full Head coin, but your cataloger is skeptical of the origin of the murky color. Four coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
