1921 2x4 Missouri. NGC MS-65. 1921 2x4 Missouri. NGC MS-65.
Lot Title: 1921 2x4 Missouri. NGC MS-65.

While the mintage indicated for the “2*4” variety is indicated as only a third that of the “plain,” any Missouri commemorative is scarce in high grade. Pleasingly struck.

1320The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$800.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. PCGS MS-64.
At least three-quarters of the obverse shows definite lilac-grey coloration, ceding to silver-tan nearer the rims, while the reverse adds powdery texture to the latter color. Evidently, contact marks...
1093The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$475.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. PCGS MS-62.
Both sides display a considerable level of drab, darker earth tones, with the obverse further enriched by mulberry-grey in the fields. Sharpness is rather nice for an issue frequently seen with weak...
1094The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$475.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. NGC MS-62.
Boone's cheek seems faintly worn, but then again, the overall obverse strike is perceptibly flatter than usual, automatically placing the level of detail at a disadvantage. Reverse definition is a...
1095The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$925.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. MS-63.
Luminous at the MS-63 grade, each side features very attractive luster for a Missouri half, with a dash of toning sprinkled into the obverse left and right fields. Occasional patches of haze on the...
1096The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$825.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. PCGS MS-64.
Murky mulberry color on the obverse has questionable aesthetic quality, while the reverse appears substantially more original. A tough coin to evaluate, and likely destined for only a narrowly...
185The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$525.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. NGC MS-62.
Considerable friction is seen on the flat cheek and on all high points. Aluminum-white with occasional hints of butter-gold tone near the rims.
189The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$2,900.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. NGC MS-65.
Lovely steel-champagne patina occupies nearly the entire surface, interrupted in the obverse left field by a wispy vertical thread of cyan tone. The central area of the reverse is additionally...
380The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$800.00
1921 2x4 Missouri and 1921 Missouri AU/cleaned.
Both type of Missouri -- that with the 2x4 and that without -- are represented by coins that are rather pasty white and lacking patina. Each is about equally touched by evidence of light circulation...
1120The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$475.00
1921 2x4 Missouri AU.
Slider is a term indicating a coin that is technically slightly circulated, but which appears at first glance to be mint state, and that is a characteristic of this Missouri 2x4. The most apparent...
1121The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$1,200.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. PCGS MS-64.
Wreathed by a border of olive-green color, Boone's portrait could hardly be more nicely framed than it is for this lovely Missouri "2x2" sub-variety. The reverse contrasts with smooth, alternating...
1204The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$1,200.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. PCGS MS-64.
The 2x4 probably does not deserve a premium over coins that lack the designation (or conversely, non-2x4 coins don't deserve to be discounted), as the availability is really about the same for both...
1249The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$475.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. MS-60 Cleaned.
Although it faces up as a choice BU coin, requisite inspection of the surfaces of this lustrous Missouri commemorative half dollar reveals hints of glossy metal atop the high points, indicative of a...
1258The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$525.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. MS-63 Lightly Cleaned.
A low mintage Commemorative issue, and one that manifests a resplendent vibrancy. Perhaps subjected to a slight removal of surface contamination, it nonetheless projects a visual resplendence that's...
1145The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$675.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. AU-58.
Bright AU that was possibly dipped. Only the slightest friction on the face prevents an MS-63 grade.
1200The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$625.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. ANACS MS-61.
This specimen's resplendent silver aspect is embellished with a delicate russet blush circumscribing the rims. A few insignificant marks are strewn amongst the die striations observed in the fields...

1921 2x4 Missouri. NGC MS-64.
A stunning specimen that exhibits original and fresh surfaces with gorgeous rainbow hues of greens and orange. A low mintage issue, and one that is superbly struck.
1558The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,700.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. NGC MS-64+.
Someone at NGC was snoozing when this superb Commemorative was graded. If not a solid MS-65, it is a least a shot MS-65. That is coin dealer nomenclature for a coin that is superior to the assigned...
1559The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,300.00
1921 2x4 Missouri. NGC MS-64.
Rose patina covers both sides of this very popular and scarce Commemorative. A bit of russet and turquoise peripheral toning can also be observed. The devices are very crisp, and the fields are as...
