Lot Title:
1873 Arrows. PF-63.
Description:
This piece was originally encapsulated in a PCGS holder and attributed as PCGS PR-63. The consigner believed it to be a higher grade, broke it out of its holder, and incorporated it into a type set. He kept the label, and it will be included with the lot. With a recorded mintage of only 800, this specimen has frosty motifs that are supported by deeply mirrored fields. Its central areas are embellished by a lavish crimson-gold and circumscribed by vibrant blue hues. Although a few flecks are discerned with a strong glass, it is visually magnificent and prominently struck.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
