Lot Title:
1892 - 1915-S Barber Half Dollar Set.
Description:
The two original Whitman albums for this set are copyright 1960, demonstrating that it is a vintage collection, assembled with care and attention to strictly original, carefully matching coins. This collection is presented to you today exactly as it was completed by our consignor, who states that most of the coins were procured directly from circulation – an opportunity not available to collectors today. Obviously, great care was taken to ensure that problem-free coins were added to the set, and amazingly, only a minority of examples lack full-rim detail! These coins are far better than what it currently called “average circulated coins,” and every single coin is present, including all the keys. An exceedingly appealing set.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
