(About The Images)
1869 MS-63. 1869 MS-63.
Lot Title: 1869 MS-63.
Description: Color aficionados will be pleased with the amazing plum-crazy coloration that has embraced much of he obverse of this beautiful three-cent nickel. The reverse displays some purplish iridescence as well. Potent luster and nearly mark-free devices confirm the grade. An unusually attractive example of an issue that was generally indifferently produced.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Low Estimate: $100.00
High Estimate: $150.00

312The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$800.00
1869 NGC PF-65 CAMEO CAC.
A hands-down, no-question CAMEO proof, the details lay across mirrored fields like snowbound devices. Essentially untoned, a mere smidgeon of pale yellow tints the rims, but does not intrude into the...
449The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$625.00
1869 PCGS PF-64+ CAM.
Even at arm's length, cameo effect is apparent, especially on the obverse, although the surfaces are somewhat hazed and could produce a more pristine appearance with proper conservation. Of more...
450The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$675.00
1869 (P01, plate coin) PCGS PF-65.
1869 P01, Plate coin. Arm's length observation would almost lead to the conclusion that this is an attractive GEM, with great contrast and sparkling fields, albeit along with uncharacteristic...
342The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$370.00
1869 NGC PF-64.
A scramble of wispy hairlines lies above Liberty's bun and also below the wreath's ribbon, and these appear to be what bars "gem" assessment. Otherwise, decent cameo contrast and fairly clear...
