Lot Title:
1827 JR-7, AU-55 Details, Questionable Color.
Description:
Prodigious mint luster can be seen as this coin is tilted beneath proper lighting, and the bold strike and strong details leave no doubt about a minimum amount of time spent in circulation. Although the toning is attractive, we are uncertain about whether the toning originated from appropriate storage. Beginning at the edge of the coin, the borders are embraced with sky-blue color that cedes to rouge tones as the center of the coin is approached, and the toning is essentially identical on both sides. Examine this coin with care, and feel free to draw your own conclusions. JR-7 is considered a somewhat scarce (R.3) die-marriage.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
