Lot Title:
Twenty Large Cents.
Description:
Dates included are: 1827 Good, 1828 AU Corroded, 1830 VG, 1831 Good, 1833 F, 1835 VG, 1836 F, 1837 VG, 1838 VG, 1839 F, 1839 Booby Head VG, 1842 VF, 1843 F, 1848 VF, 1849 VF, 1850 VG, 1851 VF, 1852 F, 1854 XF, and 1856 VF. Except for the 1828, every one of these coppers display nice, corrosion-free surfaces, and they generally display pleasing color. Perhaps a couple of coins display minor bagmarks or circulation dings, and the 1848 appears to have been struck through a cloth fragment. With 19 different dates (1839 is represented by a petite-head and booby-head), a majority of the years from 1827 through 1856 are represented, providing a terrific jump-start for a nicer large-cent date set.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
