Lot Title:
1902 $10.00. Gravette, AR Charter# 8237 Red Seal. VF.
Description:
The First National Bank of Gravette, Arkansas. First off, there are only about 25 Red Seal notes on the entire state of Arkansas. But, this note is special for another reason. Never before has a Red Seal note from Gravette, Arkansas been auctioned. Heck, until the discovery of this note, none were even reported to have existed -- so expect the auctioneer to be calling out five-figure bids shortly after the bidding opens. But the truly remarkable thing about this note is that it is just a really neat looking piece. It is fresh, still crisp, and wonderfully original. The signatures are practically 100% preserved, and the centering is more than commendable. Advance congratulations to the winner, who will be the only known person with an example from the small Arkansas town of Gravette.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
