This is a charming octet from the 1850s. Two of the five major varieties for this series are represented among these dates. These representative dates and their corresponding approximate conditions are as follows: 1853-O Arrows at Date XF-40 Cleaned, 1854-O Arrows at Date XF-45+, 1855 Arrows at Date XF-40+, 1856 Large Date VF-30+, 1856 Small Date XF-40, 1856-O XF-40 Cleaned, 1857 XF-40, and 1857-O XF-45. The 1857 specimen is totally original, and it is graced with a choice sunset glow.
