Lot Title:
1939 Double Die Reverse. PCGS MS-66.
Description:
This is the earliest possible die state you could hope to find. The doubling shows on far more of the letters than I have ever seen. The spread is clear on the whole of the words "five cents." The doubling is crisp and clear along the bases of the letters "of America." The word Monticello shows considerable spread on each and every letter. The luster is full, and the fields very clean. The highest quality example of this rare die variety we have ever offered for sale.
