Lot Title:
1927-S AU-58+.
Description:
From a recorded mintage of 3,107,000, there are approximately 100 or so extant today. Its honey gold aspect is complemented by somewhat reflective surfaces. There are only a scant number of microscopic ticks and dainty hairlines, with one perceived through the sun's rays. Just the slightest luster impairment on Liberty's breast is observed by this cataloger, presumably from misappropriate handling rather than from being in the channels of commerce. A momentous opportunity to acquire this celebrated 20th century rarity.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

This coin has MS-62+ detail and luster, but unfortunately there are some scratches on the obverse near Liberty's head. This is one of the super tough dates in the series, and although this example... |
