Lot Title:
1902 $5 Albuquerque, NM Charter# 11442 Blue Seal VG/stained/margin tear.
Description:
The Citizens National Bank of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Heavy toning is the first noticeable characteristic for this note, lending an unusual yellow cast that cannot be missed. An internal split divides it in half, the result of unabated folding over the years. Kenny Rogers was right - you gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

The First National Bank of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Large signatures have faded only a little, while the rest of the note retains surprisingly good vibrancy on decent paper. |
