Lot Title: Nearly complete collection of Lincoln cents, including proof-only issues, through 2012 in a Dansco 8100 album.
Description: Collector appeal: "B-" for the average grade range estimate of VF to AU. The lack of 1909-S VDB, 1909-S, 1914-D, 1922 "plain", and 1931-S is obviously enough to lower the perceived value somewhat, but there are offsetting factors that contribute to pulling the collector appeal back up. For starters, all but a handful of coins from 1930 on face up as red, or nearly red, UNC examples, albeit with another handful showing signs of cleaning, such as 1910, 1930, 1930-D, 1931, and 1931-D. Much more important is the fact that numerous earlier dates also face up as UNC, some with plenty of red, including: 1911, 1912-S, 1914, 1915-D (pretty toning), 1917, 1919, 1920, 1921, 1924, 1925 (more pretty toning), 1926, 1927, 1927-S, 1928-PDS, and 1929-PDS. Even the other earlier coins that are not uncirculated show that much effort was put toward upgrading to VF, XF and beyond. A very high quality collection overall for the coins that are here, and one that require not a whole lot of effort to turn it into something truly spectacular.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
