Lot Title:

Nearly complete collection of Lincoln cents in a Whitman 9405 album.

Description:

Collector appeal: "B+" for the average grade range estimate of VF to AU. 1909-S VDB is not included. A tough set to pin down as to a grade range, coins actually reach as as high as UNC! Ironically, this can work against the overall eye-appeal since there is a bit of a clash between nice, brown circulated examples and their partially red counterparts. A glossy 1914-D (XF details) has an ebony-brown appearance as if once cleaned, and 1931-S (AU) falls into the high end of the estimated grade range, but numerous coins in between feature considerable mint red, as discussed. An intriguing collection that likely should be separated into two sets.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
