(About The Images)
1903-O GSA Soft Pack NGC MS-64. 1903-O GSA Soft Pack NGC MS-64.
Lot Title: 1903-O GSA Soft Pack NGC MS-64.
Description: Bombs And Roses Set. It would be interesting to learn the precise application of criteria that caused dollars like this MS-64 1903-O to be included with the "circulated" nomenclature. Clearly UNC, the surface exudes shimmering white luster and no signs of wear, aside from light coin-to-coin contact. Once the King of the series, the vast hoard of similar examples released in the early 1960s reduced the status of 1903-O to that of "very available" within a span of just days. (PCGS# 007286)
Low Estimate: $550.00
High Estimate: $650.00

957The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$365.00
1903-O NGC MS-64.
The quality certainly appears to meet MS-65 grading standards, given the utterly gorgeous ivory-white surfaces and rather astonishing multi-spoked luster. Can this really be a New Orleans product? ...
959The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$425.00
1903-O PCGS MS-65.
Checkered Collection. Once the King of Morgan dollars, 1903-O fell into the realm of abundant survivors when the GSA released bags of uncirculated white pieces onto the market in the 1960s. Still,...
866The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$475.00
1903-O PCGS MS-65 (green label).
Once a great rarity in the series, 1903-O proves to be available even at the MS-65 level. What sets this example apart from others is the lovely sunset-gold end-of-roll toning that thoroughly...
1019The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$825.00
1903-O PCGS MS-65 CAC.
1903-O is famous as what for decades was "the key date" to the series... until a large hoard of uncirculated examples was found in the treasury vaults and promptly inflated the availability of high...
821The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$360.00
1903-O PCGS MS-64.
Extremely clean for MS-64 and possibly undergraded, this now-common hoard coin shows unsurpassed brilliance and a cheek that is as clean as that on any MS-65+. Some very faint hairlines stray...
822The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$500.00
1903-O PCGS MS-65 CAC.
Famous as a former extreme rarity, bags of the 1903-O appeared in the 1960s and reduced the coin to "better date" status. This is a finely struck example that shows a very nice, clean cheek and...
929The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$650.00
Two 1903-O PCGS MS-63.
While these are not exactly identical twins, the MS-63 grade adequately and consistently conveys the presence of satisfactory luster and a very good strike for both coins. Off-white color best...
930The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$325.00
1903-O PCGS MS-63.
Sharpness is decent in spite of a little weakness above the ear and at the eagle's breast, since the grain and cotton leaves are nicely defined. Almond-white patina characterizes the overall...
645The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$475.00
1903-O NGC MS-65.
1903-O is a date that shall live on in infamy, as this was once considered the legendary key to the Morgan dollar series and a solid investment coin. But then, a hoard of gem examples in government...
669The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$3,650.00
1903-O NGC MS-65 DPL.
Virtually white, the very faintest trace of beige-tan color may be seen resting atop the devices nearest the rims, and a few of the obverse stars display the merest hint of this same golden tone on a...
1022The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$370.00
1903-O Paramount MS-62.
Tin-grey with minute splashes of royal-blue that approach the rims on both sides. The reverse features a touch more color than the obverse.
1023The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$425.00
1903-O Paramount MS-63.
Though none of the numerous blemishes is unduly large, the abraded cheek and mildly baggy fields attenuate the grade somewhat. Mostly untoned on the obverse, but splashed with the usual Redfield...
1024The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$335.00
1903-O NGC MS-64.
Shimmering luster radiates from multiple points of origin, energizing the off-white surfaces. While Liberty's portrait is largely unaffected by abrasions, the eagle's breast is nicked with a handful...
807The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$310.00
1903-O MS-63.
Resplendent mint luster resonates nicely with the very good strike to provide a lot of eye appeal for this previously-key Morgan dollar. Citrus-gold accents gather at the edges and provide a...
808The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$330.00
1903-O NGC MS-64.
As is usually the case with 1903-O, extensive flowline development produces many spokes of cartwheel luster, resulting in a very flashy coin. A dash of minor reed marks below Liberty's chin is...
809The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$560.00
1903-O NGC MS-65.
The story of the 1903-O's long-debunked status as the key to the Morgan dollar series has been told many times. This exceptionally nice gem example proclaims an unusually fine strike, with generous...
751The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$2,100.00
Seven 1903-O Morgan dollars.
A valuable lot of seven uncertified 1903-O Morgan dollars. Six grade MS-63 with possible upgrade potential to MS-64, but one coin grades only MS-62. All are fresh and uncleaned.
752The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$475.00
1903-O GSA MS-63.
The release of very many examples of 1903-O from treasury vaults caused this issue to relinquish its status as "the key" to the Morgan dollar series, yet today, it is a rare coin in an original GSA...
753The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$500.00
1903-O NGC MS-64 PL.
Rather uniform reflectivity denies much cameo contrast, but there is no denying the presence of mirrored surfaces across front and back of this later Morgan dollar. 1903-O is an issue that is...
754The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$550.00
1903-O NGC MS-65.
A virtually immaculate cheek emphatically endorses the MS-65 grade assigned by NGC. This coin is a no-question "gem", with blazing white luster and clean fields. 1903-O is famous for having once been...
755The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$500.00
1903-O NGC MS-65.
Gleaming white and atypically well struck. As with many New Orleans issues, 1903-O tends to be mushy over Liberty's ear and at the eagle's breast, but this example is finely detailed in both areas.
756The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$600.00
1903-O Morgan dollar, NGC MS-66
Prior to bags of this issue being discovered in 1962, the 1903-O was considered a premium rarity in the Morgan dollar series. At that time, the introduction of several hundred thousand uncirculated...
871The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$525.00
1903-O NGC MS-64 PL.
Despite a lack of cameo contrast, NGC supplied a “PL” designation, no doubt on account of the glistening, mirrored surface quality. As is usual for a prooflike coin, the effect of even trivial flaws...
871The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$360.00
1903-O PCGS MS-64.
This is a wonderful example of this colorful New Orleans issue. The sparkling brilliance of its satiny surfaces flashes a vibrant cartwheel aspect. A splendidly struck issue.
864The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$340.00
1903-O NGC MS-64.
This super nice Morgan Dollar is housed in an older NGC holder. It has rolling luster, minimal marks, and no distractions. This little beauty could upgrade.
865The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$600.00
1903-O PCGS MS-66.
You just don't see too many coins graded MS-66 in the old green label holders. This coin is absolutely amazing. The fields are free of marks, the devices are superbly struck, and there is more...
866The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$600.00
1903-O NGC MS-66.
This coin is super tough in any condition, let alone MS-66. This example is bright white and free of distracting marks. You simply must view this coin to appreciate how nice it is.
775The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$320.00
1903-O MS-63.
Gleaming mint luster emanates from its satiny surfaces that are accented by peripheral golden highlights. Some trivial scuffs and marks are noted on the better than typical strike.
941The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$260.00
1903-O MS-60 Cleaned.
Until quantities of this date were located in the Treasury's vaults in the early 1960s, it was considered a celebrated rare date in this series. This specimen, although conspicuously cleaned at one...
942The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$625.00
1903-O PCGS MS-66.
Prior to the silver dollar releases by the Treasury Department, this popular issue was the key date to this series. Golden russet hues surround its satinlike aspect. The surfaces are very mute with...
867The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$290.00
1903-O MS-63.
A solid MS-63 dollar with attractive toning and blazing luster. There are no distractions, and the cheek is very clean. If this coin were struck just a bit better, it would grade much higher.
