Lot Title:
Five Bust half-dollars.
Description:
Courteous Collection of Early Type. Although the consignor mostly considered these to be AU examples, the presence of not-quite-adequate luster causes us to believe XF-45 to be the right call for each. This makes them attractive as sharply-defined and rather original coins, listed as follows: 1831 O-109 (extremely attractive due to pleasing rim tone), 1831 O-118 (gorgeous original), 1833 O-106 (gentle platinum-rose and sky-blue colors), 1835 O-105 (frosty, vintage platinum-grey), and 1836 (another very appealing coin aside from a typical soft strike). Eye-appeal to spare in this five coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
