(About The Images)
1807 (O-112) F, 1808 (O-103) VF, and 1809 (O-115) VF. 1807 (O-112) F, 1808 (O-103) VF, and 1809 (O-115) VF.
Lot Title: 1807 (O-112) F, 1808 (O-103) VF, and 1809 (O-115) VF.
Description: Courteous Collection of Early Type. Each is a significantly nicer example than the typical circulated piece, making this a desirable trio of consecutive early dates in the series. We list: 1807 O-112 (F-12 or possibly a bit better with marvelous vintage patina), 1808 O-103 (VF-20 and utterly sensational creme-grey patina), and 1809 O-115 (VF-20 or a touch better with excellent patina and traces of luster). So much to like in this three coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

High Estimate: $800.00

618The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$500.00
1807 (O-113), 1810 (O-103), and 1811 (O-108a).
Courteous Collection of Early Type. Early dates included a popular Redbook variety that steals the show for this trio, with grades that vary a bit. 1807 O-113 (G-6) features the popular "small...
632The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$750.00
1807 (O-112) NGC VF-30.
Smooth overall and generally free from distraction, with a single spot noticeable in the upper hair strands. Always popular as a "first of series" date, O-112 represents the "large stars, 50/20"...
633The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$625.00
1807 (O-112) and 1808 (O-106a), as described.
1807 with large stars just makes the VF level and features pale grey patina overall, embellished by delicate glossy texture. 1808 O-106a probably ventures up to VF-25 or so and shows nice contrast...
801The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$1,000.00
1807, 1808, and 1810, as described.
Mike Wrinkle Collection. These will command interest simply because they are early dates, but shortcomings must be noted for this trio of bust half-dollars. We list them unattributed as: 1807...
802The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$775.00
1807 (O-112), and an 1807 (O-114).
Apple Peel Collection. Both have the large-stars obverse, and together represent probably the two most common die-marriages for 1807 (capped bust). That being said, as the first date of issue, this...
473The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$775.00
1807 (O-112, 50/20) VF, 1808 (O-107a) XF, and 1809 (O-106) XF.
Although not matched up all that well for overall appearance, the first three entries in a date set of capped bust half-dollars may be satisfied with acquisition of just this one lot. Included are:...
700The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$525.00
1807 "50 over 20" (O-112, R.1) VF.
Slightly unusual appearance of the lead-grey patina may be the result of vestiges of ancient residue, but the overall presentation of this "50/20" is generally acceptable. Highly acceptable is the...
701The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$725.00
1807 "50 over 20" (O-112, R.1) XF.
CONSIGNOR: Those 1807s are so tough! Hard to get one that's nice, small or large stars, and that's why I decided to keep my AUs. CATALOGER: Plush royal-blue tone lines the margins, framing dove-grey...
485The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$1,150.00
1807 (O-111b, R.5) PCGS Genuine.
Designated only as "genuine" by PCGS. Your cataloger suspects this "bearded goddess" failed grade certification due to a curved scratched in front of Liberty's nose, though it must be admitted that...
570The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$700.00
1807 and eight additional Capped Bust half-dollars
Capped Bust half-dollars graded and attributed as follows: 1808/7 O-101 (F-12), 1825 O-114 (VF-20, cleaned), 1827 O-134 R.4 (VF-20), 1828 O-102 (VF-20), 1830 O-121 (VF-30), 1833 O-108 (VF-20), 1834...
571The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$725.00
1807, 1808/7 and 1808 Capped Bust half-dollars
A trio of Capped Bust half-dollars, cataloged as follows: 1807 O-112 "50/25" (F-12), 1808/7 O-101 (VF-25, damaged obverse), and 1808 O-103 (VF-35, cleaned/). The overdate is a very original coin that...
538The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$1,150.00
1807 O-112 "50/20" ANACS XF-40.
O-112 is a blundered denomination (“50/20”) Redbook variety, though this is not indicated on the ANACS slab. A prototypical pancake-flat strike will be familiar to most collectors of this series, but...
1387The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$2,050.00
1807 O-112, R-1 NGC AU-53.
This reverse die error "50/20 C." specimen -- same as the one used for the Bearded Goddess variety -- has surfaces that glisten with a nuance blush of lavender. It is devoid of significant marks or...
