(About The Images)
1808 (O-107), 18.11 (O-101), and 1812 (O-108). 1808 (O-107), 18.11 (O-101), and 1812 (O-108).
Lot Title: 1808 (O-107), 18.11 (O-101), and 1812 (O-108).
Description: Courteous Collection of Early Type. The VF-20 to VF-30 grade will accommodate this trio of early dates, and each one seems to be a pleasing, vintage coin. They list as: 1808 O-107 (VF-30, marvelous original and very attractive), 18.11 O-101 (VF-25 and slightly glossy), and 1812 O-108 (VF-30, a bit glossy with some spotty darker tone on the reverse). Three coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

High Estimate: $300.00

619The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$260.00
1808 (O-103) NGC XF details/improperly cleaned
Ronald Zink Early Type Collection. "Improperly cleaned" seems like a harsh assessment and a head-scratcher given the rather attractive pearl-grey patina and roving luster that occupy most of each...
620The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$600.00
1808 (O-106), 1809 (O-103), and 1810 (O-1004a).
Courteous Collection of Early Type. 1808 O-106 (XF) shows tantalizing luster and rim tone, but was strongly dipped white at some point. 1809 O-103 and 1810 O-104a remain overly white as a result of...
621The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$425.00
1808 (O-106a), 1811 (O-109), and 1812/1 (O-102a).
Courteous Collection of Early Type. Earlier dates all feature superior definition, but some problems require mention. They list as: 1808 O-106a (VF/edge ding), 1811 O-109 (XF-45/cleaned, great...
623The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$925.00
1808 (O-108), 1809, and 1811.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. Terrific detail applies for this trio of earlier dates, two of them not attributed, and these are obviously nicer vintage pieces. We list them as follows: 1808...
624The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$200.00
1808 (O-110a, R.4) and 1809 (O-114, R.5).
Courteous Collection of Early Type. A prominent die crack from S7 to the nose verifies the die-state for 1808 O-110a (G-4). 1809 O-114 (Fine/cleaned) displays the die crack for the prime die-state in...
634The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$600.00
1808/7 (O-101), 1808 (O-104a), and 1814 (O-107), as described.
Earlier dates in the capped bust series make this an appealing trio given the level of sharpness for each. 1808/7 O-101 features a particularly sharp reverse for the VF-30 level, but the centers of...
635The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$425.00
1808 (O102a), 1809 (O-107), and 1812 (O-106), as described.
1808 O-102a stands on the cusp between F-15 and VF, with decent light-grey patina and some delicate accents at the edge. 1809 O-107 looks just about like the perfect VF-20, showing gorgeous dove-grey...
636The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$475.00
Two 1808 (O-107a and O-108a), as described.
O-107a rests in an NGC XF/cleaned holder, but the coin exhibits much better eye-appeal than is implied by that disclaimer, with what appears to be fully original surface quality surrounded by rim...
474The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$450.00
1808 (O-102a) XF, 1809 (O-115) VF, and 1810 (O-101) VF.
1808 O-102a R.2 grades XF and displays about a quarter of the original luster, and 1809 O-115 R.3 is a graphite-grey VF. Finally, 1810 O-110 is an XF. Three coin lot.
702The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$700.00
1808 (O-103, R.1) and 1813 (O-103, R.2).
Neither bust half in this lot is fully original, yet both are reasonably free of problems associated with blatant mishandling. The 1808 O-103 offers gorgeous AU-55 details, but alas, it has probably...
703The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$875.00
1808 (O-104a, R.3) AU.
CONSIGNOR: This was an early purchase before I decided to go after toned coins. Lots of luster, kind of flat though. You usually see them that way. CATALOGER: Frosty luster remains across the vast...
539The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$400.00
1808 O-106 NGC XF-45.
Not indicated on the slab is the Overton variety O-112, which is characterized by a center dot that looks like a pimple where the Eagle’s left (observed) wing attaches to his body. A coin with plenty...
571The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$310.00
1808 O-103, R-1. XF-40 Cleaned.
Two distinguishing characteristics of this variety are the missing left base of the numeral "1" in the date, and "AM" of "AMERICA" is solidly joined at the base. A light silvery surface aspect is...
1388The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$450.00
1808 O-109a, R-3. AU-53.
Light die clashing is evident on this distinctively die cracked variety. Although sharply struck, the reverse lacks denticulation definition because of this specimen's late die state. Its silvery...
1389The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$2,300.00
1808 O-105, R-3. NGC MS-62.
Swirling light blue and deep gold hues grace this piece's glistening lustrous surfaces. A couple of flecks and toned-over hairlines are observed under close scrutiny on this superbly struck early...
