Lot Title:
Partial collection of Liberty nickels in a Whitman 9407 album.
Description:
No-Land Estate. Collector appeal: "B-" for the average grade range estimate of Fine. The consignor wished to put together a set of "full LIBERTY", dirty V-nickels, but was unable to find the perfect 1885 and 1896, leaving those holes empty. Most other slots have been successfully given the desired representative, except that 1895 has just a hint of LIBERTY, and that word on 1907, 1909 and 1910 is missing a couple of letters. 1886 appears to be an exceptionally original F-12, and 1912-S should meet the same grade perfectly. A much more challenging collection than one might imagine at first blush, with this one needing just a little more effort toward completion.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
