(About The Images)
1827/6 (O-101) AU details/questionable color. 1827/6 (O-101) AU details/questionable color.
Lot Title: 1827/6 (O-101) AU details/questionable color.
Description: The under digit "6" shows up well, as it should for this popular overdate. Indeed, details everywhere show up very well for this nicely produced half-dollar, and the stars have mostly been brought up to strong relief. The finely delineated hair definition suggests a details grade near the AU-58 level but light, feathery hairlines dart occasionally across the portrait and might preclude a straight grade. Still, if the surface has been modestly cleaned, it has recovered very well, with some strong album toning evident on the reverse, along with some subtle pastel iridescent distributed within the flowline luster pattern. (PCGS# 006147)

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Two 1827/6 (O-101 and O-102), both AU.
Courteous Collection of Early Type. Either of these 1827/6 representatives could make the AU level, or come very close in the trying. O-101 features exceedingly sharp detail in the hair curls and...
669The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$200.00
Two 1827/6 (O-102 F and O-103 VF/dipped).
Courteous Collection of Early Type. The popular 1827/6 overdate makes two difference die-marriage appearances for this duo. O-102 should grade Fine or slightly better, and the vintage presentation...
817The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$600.00
1827/6 (O-103) AU.
Natural Classic's Collection. Only trivial contact marks appear under a loupe. Luster shows particularly strong potency on the reverse, where pewter-grey patina concedes a limited amount of real...
556The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$725.00
1827/6 AU-58.
So bright, and with so much luster remaining that it is likely many collectors will call this coin BU, and it would be hard to disagree with that assessment. Possibly dipped, but the results were not...
