White Mare Collection. Only the regular Federal issues get representation in this uncommonly nice Buffalo nickel collection, so there are no doubled-dies, overdates or 3-legged examples. But the coins that are present fall little shy of amazing. With a few notable exceptions, these are coins with full-horn details on the reverse, and beginning with 1927, grades should average at least AU/UNC overall. Aside from perhaps two or three very lightly cleaned pieces, there are no "problem coins" to be found, and original surfaces dominate the presentation. Slides have been stapled into the album, so we note the following highlights with grades ESTIMATED "through the plastic": 1913-D type-2 (AU), 1913-S type-2 (VF), 1914-D (XF), 1915-S (AU), 1917-D (XF), 1918-D (XF), 1919-D (VF), 1921-S (VF/lightly cleaned), 1923-S (VF/lightly cleaned), 1924-S (F-15), 1925-S (XF), 1926-D (XF/weak strike), and 1926-S (VF). Truly a labor of love over the course of decades, manifested by a terrific collection.
