Lot Title:

Twenty-three Proof Sets dated 1955 to 1959, many unopened, as described.
|
Description:
|
Six-Oh-One Consignment. "A" quality to "B+" quality collector overall would be our assessment, with the "unopened" factor strong for many of these sets. The outer shipping packages still enclose and protect the proof set envelopes, although compression has led to minor corner bends, which is all that would keep the unopened examples from being straight-A quality. We suggest the following APPROXIMATE counts for Unopened sets except as noted: 4x 1955, 5x 1956 (1 opened), 4x 1957, 5x 1958 (1 opened), and 5x 1959 (2 opened). What a lot of fun it would be to go through these and search for cameo coins!
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
