(About The Images)
1906-D NGC MS-64. 1906-D NGC MS-64.
Lot Title: 1906-D NGC MS-64.
Description: MHJ Set. Very deeply impressed details find pleasing company within rolling bands of luster that pinwheel expansively, unimpeded by generous patina on both sides. Indeed, the memorable toning dominates initial impressions, with thick, wide ribbons of rich tobacco-blue and amber gravitating inward from the rims, penetrating beyond the peripheral lettering and stars. Even close examination finds no particular reason this should not be in an MS-65 holder, although a brief hairline stretches diagonally across Liberty's cheek. Amazing vintage quality right here, folks. (PCGS# 006505)

664The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$1,150.00
1906-D NGC MS-64.
MHJ Set. As if just plucked from the cardboard of an old mint set, a hefty portion of tobacco-grey and toast-brown toning layers each side, producing an extremely original appearance. Nobody could...
719The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$615.00
1906-D NGC AU-58, and a 1908-D NGC AU-53.
Wine And Dine Collection. 1906-D has the bright near-white appearance of a low-end UNC in terms of detail and brilliance, with hairline abrasions that flicker through the fields affirm delicate wear...
719The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$600.00
1906-D XF details/cleaned, and a 1913 VF.
1906-D is just barely cleaned, and could pass muster on a good day. Luster is very strong for the grade level, so call it XF+/lightly cleaned. 1913 has slightly less luster and detail, but better...
720The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$260.00
1906-D AU details/cleaned.
Details are at or very near the AU level, with some flashing luster noticeable in the fields. The coin is a little pale overall, as if dipped a couple of times too often, but in general, it is a...
499The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$240.00
1906-D AU.
Pretty luster captures strong details and slight wear on the obverse, while the reverse appears to be virtually mint state. Rim toning enhances the attractive, original appearance of both sides, and...
442The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$200.00
1906-D NGC XF-45.
This Barber half-dollar could easily serve as the poster-coin for the XF-45 grade, featuring picture-perfect luster that glints from beneath steely-grey patina. While a common issue in the series,...
500The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$450.00
1906-D NGC MS-62.
Despite an outstanding reverse, an overall grade of MS-62 is appropriate due to several hairlines on Liberty's cheek and neck, almost certainly slide marks from album storage. A couple of small hazy...
