1873-CC PCGS AU details/streaks removed. 1873-CC PCGS AU details/streaks removed.
Lot Title: 1873-CC PCGS AU details/streaks removed.
Description: Carson City struck both Seated dollars and Trade dollars in 1873, marking it as a transition year in production. In perusing past sales, the number of 1873-CC dollars that have been "enhanced" almost seems to exceed the number left in original condition. PCGS declares "streaks removed", probably in reference to a small area of either obverse field that shows as a rough patch. While retoning on the reverse has a passable magenta-brown and sky-blue appearance, some sort of patina layered over the obverse will not look natural to most observers. Well-detailed nevertheless, with remnants of luster still visible with persistent inspection. (PCGS# 007032)

1873-CC ANACS MS-63.
Natural Classic's Collection. Type-1/Type-1. Struck with emphatic precision, most details have been brought up to a level of outstanding sharpness, with minor softness at Liberty's head and foot. ...

1873-CC NGC VF-20.
The Blitzer Collection. Although the coin shows obvious, moderate wear, a Trade dollar at this level just has something "cool" about it. Evenly circulated, both sides display uncommon smoothness and...
849The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$330.00
1873-CC XF, cleaned.
Details are rather sharp and may be nearer the AU level than suggested by your cataloger's details grade. The excessively white appearance is the result of a fairly fierce cleaning that has left not...

1873-CC Trade dollars AU
Although the surfaces are a little too bright to be considered natural, this is by no means an unappealing coin. On the contrary, the strong detail and bright color will appeal to the collector who...
524The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$850.00
1873-CC XF-45.

747The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$625.00
1873-CC AU-50.
Devoid of "chop marks," this silver-gray issue, a popular series specimen and a popular mint product, probably received a light cleaning at one time, but it has now begun to attractively retone. Some...
