Lot Title:
Five certified commemorative half-dollars, all MS-65.
Description:
Captain Green Collection. The lone PCGS MS-65 grade applies to a 1924 Huguenot that features unusually attractive snow-white mint frost and intricately detailed motifs. NGC has supplied the same MS-65 grade for the balance of these half-dollars, including: 1937-D Arkansas (lightly speckled apricot-grey toning toward the outer areas), 1938-S Boone (shimmering pale grey with a touch of gold at the rims), 1937 Roanoke (wide splashes of apple-gold on both sides), and 1925 Stone Mountain (faint touch of mauve-gold patina). Five coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
