(About The Images)
1856 Slanted 5 PCGS MS-64. 1856 Slanted 5 PCGS MS-64.
Lot Title: 1856 Slanted 5 PCGS MS-64.
Description: Gleaming brilliant surfaces display curiously attractive die polish streaking through the fields on a southeast angle, which helps explain the lovely flashing eye-appeal. Cleanly struck with amazingly sharp details, evidence of clashed dies readily shows, with Liberty's portrait fully outlined inside the wreath on the reverse. An utterly terrific type dollar at MS-64. (PCGS# 007540)

1856 Slanted 5. NGC AU-58.
Hardly any wear at all can actually be detected, but the obverse reveals a number of parallel hairlines at a limited viewing advantage. Surfaces exhibit a little better "pop" than usual for these...
382The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$240.00
1856 Slanted 5. PCGS AU-58.
Dies were only mildly clashed for this, an issue that often displays strong clash marks. An arm's-length "unc", close inspection is required to find only the most trivial friction imaginable on the...
879The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$750.00
1856 'Slanted 5' and 1873 'Open 3' gold dollars Type 3, NGC MS-62.
A pair of attributed gold dollars, including an 1856 "slanted 5", and an 1873 "open 3". The 1856 is typically abraded for the grade, but it's companion 1873 seems rather above average for just MS-62....
